The Director of Bean Counting, also known as the Director of Accounting, is a leadership role responsible for overseeing an organization's financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of its financial statements. - Overseeing the accounting department and managing a team of accountants, bookkeepers, and other financial professionals.
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures that comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Preparing and presenting financial reports and analysis to senior management, stakeholders, and the board of directors.
- Managing the organization's budgeting process and monitoring actual results against budgeted expectations.
- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, tax compliance, and other financial operations.
- Working with auditors and other external partners to ensure the timely completion of audits and other financial reporting requirements.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to support the organization's financing needs.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and other financial management tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
