Program Administrator Job Description

A program administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a program or department within an organization. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for the program or department
  • Manage budgets and financial resources, including forecasting and reporting on expenses and revenue
  • Develop and maintain partnerships and collaborations with external organizations and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and team members
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards
  • Monitor program or department performance, and analyze data to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve program or department effectiveness and efficiency
  • Coordinate and manage program or department activities, including meetings, events, and other initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor team members, including recruiting, training, and performance management
  • Develop and deliver program or department communications and presentations
  • Prepare reports and other materials for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, public administration, or social sciences
  • Previous experience in program administration or a related field is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Knowledge of program evaluation and data analysis is preferred, but not required

Physical Demands:

  • This role may require sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • May require occasional lifting of boxes or other materials

Working Conditions:

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate client schedules or deadlines
  • May require travel to meet with clients or attend industry conferences or events
